Priscilla Holberton is the adoptive mom of a little boy from Vietnam. I hope to make this a one-stop browsing site for information of interest to familes with children adopted from Asia. I started small, by creating a table of Lunar New Year Celebrations in the Washington, DC area. I now have individual pages on various countries, but it is far from complete.

I could really use some help on all the pages! Do you know of language classes, organizations, culture camps or other things of interest to families with children adopted from Asia? Do you have a list of movies on Netflix related to your child's country of origin?

I originally put up a calendar of of Lunar New Year events in the DC area on a student website in January 2010. In January 2011, I created MyAsianKidDC.com and put up the Lunar New Year Events. I added country and adoption pages a little later that winter. After all the Lunar New Year events were over in March 2011, I realized this website would be a good place to gather family Asian cultural events and adoption events and made a general Events page.

In the Spring of 2011, I added a Facebook page where I post Asian cultural events and adoption events that I just posted on the events page or are coming up in the next week. I also post adoption and Asian news and events which I hear about too late to add to the calendar.

I update the events calendar when I find the information and individual pages as I find more information.
